ignore this
You know, I was thinking about that Earth Hour thing (tomorrow at 8pm by the way), and how they're asking businesses to get in on it. And I guess all this time I've sorta been taking electricity for granted. Like, it's easy for a household to do it, because all we're losing is a couple of lights, a TV, computer, etc. We can just do something else for an hour. But for businesses it's harder because they depend so much on electricity. AMC for example. It's not like they can just stop the movies and be like, "Okay guys, time to save the world." That would mess everything up and people would be pissed. If a grocery store did it, they might as well just close the store entirely for an hour, because without the lights and cash registers and security cameras and alarms, not only would people not be able to shop, but shoplifters would have a field day.

So unless it was an entire city-wide thing like in Dubai and San Francisco and wherever else where everyone knew and made accommodations for it (because the city was gonna turn off their power anyway), people can't expect too many businesses to participate.

Seriously, why do I always sound like a kindergartener when I talk about environmental stuff? Geez.

I wanted to do something today, so I FINALLY finished that stupid species paper, and then Frank wouldn't call me back, and then when I finally talked to him it was too late and he had already gone to the movies earlier because he thought I couldn't go. So I was mad.

Instead I internetted all day and watched [ Zeitgeist ] which made me angry even though probably a lot of it is just a bunch of crap. The part about religion seemed pretty accurate, but why'd they put that in there with a bunch of government conspiracies? It's not really a conspiracy, it's all pretty out in the open and a lot of people already know about it, and they could have at least made it the last part in the documentary so they didn't offend a bunch of people before getting their message out.

I looked up the part about how there's no law that you have to pay income tax. Technically there is, it just says it's "voluntary", but the IRS uses the argument that technically stopping at a red light is "voluntary", but that doesn't mean there aren't consequences. Personally I think it's ridiculous, but you can still go to jail if you don't pay your income tax. They should just rewrite it, or re-ratify the 16th Amendment or something, since people are saying that it didn't fulfill the state quota or something like that. Can't they do that?

The whole microchip thing just scares me. Honestly, I'd move out of the United States if they didn't need me so much.

But if I had that kind of power, I would totally do a lot of the same things. Not gonna lie. It'd be so cool, having a bunch of meat puppets to play with.

Also, I wanna start a [ Morsbags ] pod. Anyone wanna help? :D

I made this adorable skirt out of my oversized USF t-shirt. I love itttt. I wanted to wear it out today but nooooooo.

Wouldn't it be funny if I missed midnight because I was too busy doing whatever online? It would be so typical of me.

I found this quote thing on my travels around the internetz:

"When I was a young person, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older person, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old person, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world." [ link ]

I wouldn't go as far as saving all my trash for a year, but it kinda makes you think for a minute before you completely forget about it and go back to your life as it was.
